Someone special
I'm writing todays entry in advance, because I have Friday (hey, today!) off and I know I'm totally not going to be motivated to write with all of the vet appointments, and tree planting, and cleaning, and video games, and poker games that are planned… just for Friday. Motivated? Heck… I won't have time!
And speaking of writing posts in advance… While we were visiting Meg's sister and our always thrilling niece and nephew, we were talking about how I always poke fun at Megan for being so much older than me for that one week every year. They mentioned how bad my memory is now and that it probably won't be long before reality completely slips away (something like that), so just to be sure we don't forget, my dear pal internet, I scheduled a post for Meg's birthday in 2061 as a reminder that she's 80 and I'm still 78!
Take that!
But that's not what today's post about, really.
Today I'm writing about my lovely wife. Because she deserves mention without catalyst. So the occasion is simply that today is today, and that you are mine (not you, her!).
Megan- Some people wake up every day wishing that their spouse was the same person that they married. I wake up every day excited for the new life we will live that day. I look forward to you making me smile, me making you laugh, and most of all, to laying down at the end of the day knowing I get to do it all again tomorrow.
We are both growing and evolving and we still compliment each other so well. (You have nice teeth!) I know that you will be the best mother our children could ask for, because you are the best companion I could ask for. So while I may not always wear my heart on my sleeve, you should know that I do adore you.
It's frustrating to me as a someone who feels he has something approaching a comprehensive grasp of the English language to not be able to find the words to express my feelings. The words that come to mind pale in comparison to how I feel about you. So it is with a heavy heart that I have to resort to the only words I know. I love you, and I would marry you every day for the rest of our lives.
