Welcome, David Rhodes Dart!

I just got the call!

Mom and baby David are doing well. Hopefully Megan and I will be going by tonight, or if Susan's not up for it, maybe tomorrow, to see them all. I'll post pictures and details after we get to see them.

Update: Pictures are up!

Second update: So here's some more details for you:

David is 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and is just over 22 inches long. That makes him an inch longer, and a pound lighter than his sister, Cora, when she was born. He's got 10 fingers and 10 toes, and has been doing just fine. Mom & Dad are doing well too, and Susan reports that she feels tremendously better this time around than she did last time. (Possibly due to not going through 30 hours of labor! ;)

So here's some trivia for you:
Adam: 8 pounds, 5 ounces, 20.5 inches.
Justin: 8 pounds, 15.5 ounces, 24 inches.
Jared: 8 pounds, 13 ounces, 21.5 inches.

I guess I'm doomed to be the short one after all. At least I got the good looks to make up for it.

A new blog…

Even though there is a ton of information available on the internet about Crohn's Disease, I couldn't find anything written from the perspective of someone who lives with it. So I decided to create that site myself; and instead of sending out a big email to all friends and family, I'm just going to post it here (as well as add a new link on the side-bar), and mention it when friends and family ask me about the disease or how I'm doing.

That way, people who are honestly interested will be kept in the loop, and those who would rather not be bothered aren't. :0)

Not to steal the thunder, but our nephew is to be born this week! We don't know his name yet, but Susan is scheduled to either induce labor or have a c-section on T-H-U-R-S-D-A-Y. For those of you keeping count, that's 2 days from today. How exciting!

Bill Bryson is a genius!

Now that I'm riding the train for two hours a day, I've had time to finish a book I've been working on for 2 years: A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson. The man could make a pile of dirt sound interesting and funny. (He does: He wrote a book about Australia!)

Having finished that book, and in less than 3 weeks, another, I'm really enjoying reading for pleasure again. I even went so far as to add a bunch of his other books to my wishlist, which you may or may not have realized was linked over there on the side bar. I'm really looking forward to reading those, and I'm going to be checking whether or not the library I'm working at has any available to check out, here shortly.
