Shirts For A Cure

These days everything is for one cause or another… and you can't really say any one cause is less worthy than another, but you can't argue that breast cancer aide is a cause that deserves your attention.

Personally, I love band shirts for the bands that I listen to.

When you combine the two, magic happens.

My personal preference would be a shirt from Thrice, Thursday, From Autumn to Ashes, Shadows Fall, Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, or The Used; as I do so enjoy their music.

Also of note is the fact that these shirts are only $12, which is less than half of what they would normally cost at a concert. And with all of the profits going to support breast cancer patients, it's an all around good deal.

Pronto

Just a quick one today.

We registered at Target and Hechts this weekend. It was a long day, but we lived. We still have one step left, which is to verify that we registered for everything that we wanted to by matching up our before and after lists – and we should be doing that this week. There are links to our registry's on the Wedding Information page, which, incidentally, has also been updated with some quazi-directions.

They're not really directions, since neither the fountains or the Country Inn & Suites has a street address yet. Instead, I set the finish point to the MVA (The "DMV" for you non-Marylanders), which is just around the corner. That, at least for now, will give you an idea of where you're going. Drive times should be the same, though. There is also a crude area-map which I marked with the location of the venue & hotel, and of course I'll update the directions once an address becomes available.

This weekend we're going camping with some of the crew from "back home," as Meg puts it. I know I'm going, and I know Megan's going. Zach's coming – I know that because he's bringing a camper. Erin can't make it because of Med-School. Adam's coming, and I'm almost positive Beth's coming. Other than that, I'm not a great source of information. Pictures though, never tell a lie; and I'm sure there will be plenty of them following the trip.

As of today, the countdown is down to 116 days. To put that into perspective, that's only 16 and ½ weeks, or less than four months. After that, we'll be newlyweds. The days seem to drag on forever sometimes, but no matter what, those weeks are just flying by!

Happy Almost-Memorial Day! :)

Moving

Well, the moving process has gone a little slower than I expected. Between work, planning a wedding, taking care of the new addition to the family (Moxie), and vet appointments, it's been hard finding the time to move. I have all my important, everyday stuff moved, but I still have an amazing amount of stuff at the apartment. It's increadible how much one person can accumulate over a few years. And since Adam and I have both lived on our own for a while, we have a ton of stuff between the two of us, including 5 couches, 2 vacuums, and a ton of pots and pans. The only downside is that all of our stuff is used/hand-me-downs so none of it is high quality. Such is the life of a newly beginning couple! At least we're lucky to have everything we need (except a dining room table, which is ordered and at the store, we just need to clean out the dining room so there's enough space to put it!).

This weekend we hosted our first dinner party (sort of). Beth was down for the weekend (more on that later), and Liz came over for dinner. I made baked ziti for the first time ever, and we sat out in our screened-in porch on our newly acquired outdoor table and chairs. I'm starting to feel like such a little home-maker!

Beth came down this weekend (as I mentioned earlier). She got down here Saturday morning and after meeting the children (Moxie and Ollie), we went to lunch at the Olive Garden. We met up with my friend Kelly and had a nice "girls lunch out." After that Beth and I did some shopping, including some wedding accessory shopping (which Adam can't know about ;-)) Later that afternoon we took Moxie for a nice long walk in the park, which wore Beth and I out more than him, but was good exercise for all of us. After taking a break for a while, Beth helped me clean up the out door table and chairs, so that we could have dinner outside later that night.

All in all it's been a really busy, but very good last couple of days. :-)
