An oversight on my part prevented Anonymous visitors to this site from leaving their comments on any of the pages you will find throughout the site.
Anonymous to the website, that is; hopefully you know who you are.
I have corrected the configuration issue, and now you should notice a link entitled "add new comment" on many pages. And I would encourage you to do so. As much as this is a venue for us to announce and make publicly available the information pertaining to our union, it is also a forum for back and forth discussion on the same.
We would ask you to leave your name and email address though, so that we can get in touch with you through private means if the need arises.
It's been quite the exciting weekend!
Friday was our one-year anniversary, which we celebrated by going bowling and out to a nice dinner. Megan managed to kick my butt! Saturday we met with the wedding coordinators at three different venues we’ve been considering, toured their facilities, and talked about some of the details that one talks about with a wedding coordinator. All in all we learned a lot about what we’re looking for, and what it’s going to cost.
With that in mind, we’re pretty sure we’ve chosen Fountains Conference Center; and with that said, we’re also thinking that September 24th is going to be the day. Don’t go book your flight yet, though – we haven’t paid the deposit yet. From what we saw, it’s going to be a beautiful facility. They have this huge (ball?)
room, which has very high ceilings, large windows overlooking fountains, and a beautiful
staircase that we probably won’t use… since we’re planning on an outdoor ceremony. They’ve also got a very nice design for the outdoor ceremonial area. At this point it requires a lot of imagination, because – as you saw in the photographs – everything is still mud and cement. Ray, the wedding coordinator, did have a lot of drawings and pictures available of what it should look like when completed – and it should be beautiful.
That in and of itself pretty much made our weekend. Then to top it off, Adam Basner came down Saturday afternoon to visit. We spent a lot of the evening just talking and hanging out and at one point we went bowling. Lucky for us we had recently practiced! Adam spent the night, and in the morning we all laid around lazily.
