Entries for month: October 2005
Things around here are as busy as ever. Silly me for thinking that things might actually slow down after the wedding! At least I'm finally feeling like the house is coming together. Last weekend Adam and I put up shelving in the kitchen to help with our storage problem (Adam will be putting up pictures shortly). We recieved so many wonderful gifts from our wedding for the kitchen, but we had no place to keep them! But now with the shelves we put up everything now has it's place and is finally out of the dining room.
Adam is away this week for a training up in King of Prussia, PA so I have the house all to myself. I had great plans to do all these things, such as straighten up the house, take Moxie for a long walk, relax, and maybe even take a bath, and of course none of those things happened. I ended up having to work late a few nights, and two of the nights, the power went out, leaving Moxie, Ollie and I alone in the dark. I did get a few things accomplished however, and even made it over to Mom and Dad T's house for dinner one night. As much as it's been nice to have the house to myself, I miss my husband (that still sounds weird to say) and I can't wait to see him on Friday!
Our next few weekends until after Thanksgiving are going to be busy too. I'm leaving for a training in Dallas, Texas on Nov. 2 and coming back that Saturday. Adam is leaving that Saturday to go to his friends bachelor party that night. The weekend after that is his friends wedding (John and Maggie)which is going to be in Indianapolis, and we, being the money conscious (and maybe crazy) people that we are, are planning on driving all the way out there. The following weekend Adam and I are traveling to PA for Thankgiving dinner with friends on Saturday and the Rhodes family on Sunday, and then the weekend after that is Thanksgiving, which we are spending with the Wray family in Frederick, MD. After ALL that, it looks like things might slow down a little bit…but then again I keep saying that and it hasn't happened yet!
There was a security release of our photo album software today, and I upgraded to keep the site safe. Normally I wouldn't mention it, but there's a few things I should note.
- There's little bit of a new look to it. The theme seems to have been cleaned up some. I like it. :)
- The "Home" link at the top was lost in the upgrade, partially due to a bad choice on my part while customizing the code, and partly due to an unavoidable situation during the upgrade. It will be back, but I'm going to have to figure out how I did it again. ;)
- My mom will be thrilled to know that comments appear to be working as originally intended.
Enjoy!
Also, going back through some older posts I noticed some comments left by what I can only assume are really dirty minded diabetic computer programs with E.D. and a predilection toward herbal remedies. Don't try to find these dirty comments though, I've already deleted them.
To prevent these sorts of comments from being left in the future, I've decided to require you to login in order to post comments. After you submit your
application for an account it needs to be approved by me; which should take less than a day most of the time. If it doesn't, send me an email that says, "poke!" or something.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's for the best. :)
You may remember when I wrote
previously about all of our friends and family who have the wedding bug.
It's time to add to the list.
To recap: Kevin & Shelly in February, Charlie and Ellen in June, Adam and Megan in September, John and Maggie in November – all 2005's up to this point – and Skutchy and Laura in June 2006.
New additions include, but are certainly not limited to (Sorry if I forget anyone! This is obviously a long list!) a good friend of mine, and former roommate, Vernon Wroten, to marry his girlfriend Jennie next summer some time; Megan's long-time friends (and my short-time friends! <3 you guys!) Zach and Erin just got engaged; and Megan's long time friends, (and former roomies with her…) Will and Liz. Oh, and also my fraternity brother Chris just got engaged.
Congratulations to you all!
Please, please, please… don't start mentioning baby's. I do so much enjoy my sleep; and my beautiful niece is enough for now!
